Responsibilities
Maggas is currently recruiting a highly energetic and motivated RRT for our Ottawa location. The RT provides respiratory services with a focus on providing oxygen therapy, clinical and ventilatory support to the client while collaborating with referring physicians and ensuring patient safety. This is a part time position that will lead to full time.
- Provides quality clinical care by conducting a full respiratory assessment; diagnostics as applicable; assessing and evaluating test results; delivering of equipment and supplies as required; follow treatment plan as per prescription and established company best practices.
- Conducts oximetry assessments and prepares detailed respiratory reports for physician review, while providing smoking cessation counselling and performing thorough respiratory evaluations for patients
- Provides appropriate follow-up to clients to evaluate effects of treatment plan, comfort of client when using treatment and addresses compliance with therapy.
- Assess clients home environment for safety, identifies and addresses areas of concern, and performs equipment quality control checks and deliveries as needed on a recurring basis.
- Contributes to the growth of MagGas Medical by collaborating with the oxygen team to provide demonstration/education of products and services to prospective clients.
- Maintains continuing education and knowledge of clinical best practices.
- When required participates in CPAP duties including initiating PAP therapy when prescribed
Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (required)
- Active License to practice with the provincial governing body
- Strong cardio-respiratory assessment skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Clear vulnerable persons check
- Previous experience in homecare field an asset
- Working knowledge of Microsoft, Google applications and Android
- COVID Vaccination
Vaccination required: applicants must be vaccinated with two doses of COVID-19 vaccine as we work with high-risk patients
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $33.00-$43.00 per hour
