About the Opportunity
Our client is a respected custom millwork and architectural woodworking manufacturer serving high-end residential and commercial clients. They are seeking an experienced Senior Millwork Designer who is passionate about exceptional craftsmanship, luxury design, and delivering bespoke solutions.
This role is ideal for a designer who thrives in a custom environment and can translate architectural concepts and client visions into detailed, production-ready millwork designs. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, architects, interior designers, project managers, and production teams to create unique, high-quality products that exceed expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Client Consultation
- Collaborate with clients, architects, builders, and interior designers to understand project requirements and design intent.
- Develop custom millwork solutions for kitchens, cabinetry, built-ins, feature walls, architectural woodwork, commercial interiors, and specialty projects.
- Prepare detailed shop drawings, production drawings, and design presentations.
- Produce 3D renderings and visualizations to support client approvals and project execution.
- Assist clients with material selections, finishes, hardware, and design details.
- Interpret architectural drawings and specifications while identifying opportunities to enhance functionality and aesthetics.
Project Coordination
- Work closely with estimating, project management, and production teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and aligned with project budgets.
- Review projects for constructability, installation requirements, and technical accuracy.
- Coordinate design revisions and change requests.
- Attend site visits, project meetings, and client consultations as required.
Technical Design
- Create accurate production drawings and shop packages for manufacturing.
- Develop detailed cut lists, specifications, and material requirements.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and project specifications.
- Maintain drawing revisions and project documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to design standards and manufacturing efficiency.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architectural Technology, Industrial Design, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in custom millwork, architectural woodworking, cabinetry, or luxury residential design.
- Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD, Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, SolidWorks, SketchUp, or similar design software.
- Strong understanding of millwork construction methods, materials, hardware, and finishing techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings.
- Experience creating detailed shop drawings for production.
- Strong client-facing and presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.

Pay: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
