JOB TITLE: Project Procurement Lead
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Project Procurement Lead plays a critical role within our Procurement team, ensuring that all fabrications, materials, components, tools, and services required for wind turbine repair projects are sourced on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role partners closely with Operations Equipment Manager, Project Managers, Field Technicians, Engineering, and Suppliers to keep projects running smoothly from planning through execution.

LOCATION:
This is an on-site position, based out of our Cambridge, ON office. Standard hours of work are 40 hours from Monday – Friday.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead end‑to‑end procurement for large‑scale custom manufacturing fabrications and weldments.
- Develop sourcing strategies tailored to renewable‑energy manufacturing, long‑lead items, and complex fabrication requirements.
- Build and manage project‑specific procurement plans, including timelines, risk assessments, and cost‑tracking frameworks.
- Issue RFQs and purchase orders with strict alignment to engineering drawings, fabrication standards, and project milestones.
- Track and report procurement progress across multiple active projects, ensuring visibility for project managers and leadership.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify fabrication suppliers based on welding capability, material certifications, NDT requirements, and capacity to meet wind‑industry standards.
- Ensure all purchased materials and fabrications meet technical specifications, quality criteria, and safety regulations unique to wind‑energy equipment.
- Collaborate closely with the Equipment Manager, Project Managers, and Engineering to forecast material needs, manage budgets, and mitigate supply‑chain risks.
- Support new team development and project launches by establishing procurement workflows, documentation standards, and supplier readiness.
- Monitor supplier performance with a focus on on‑time delivery, fabrication accuracy, and adherence to quality plans.
- Drive continuous improvement within the procurement function by identifying cost‑reduction opportunities, improving sourcing strategies, and strengthening vendor partnerships.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Education
- Diploma or bachelor’s in supply chain management, business administration, engineering or relevant field.
- Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) or National Institute of Supply Chain Leadership (NISCL) designation is considered an asset.
- PMP certificate is considered an asset.
Experience
- 5+ years of procurement experience, ideally in industrial services, energy, utilities, or manufacturing.
- Manufacturing engineering and/or fabrication experience is considered an asset.
- Experience supporting project‑based work with tight timelines and changing priorities.
Knowledge/Skills
- Ability to interpret engineering technical drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving abilities.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and cross‑functionally.
- Familiarity with mechanical or electrical components used in wind turbines is considered an asset.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and procurement tools.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office platforms.
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and contract administration skills.
- Interest in fabrication processes and willingness to learn about our specific manufacturing environment.

Salary: $95,000 – $120,000 CAD.
