About AGL
Aldershot Greenhouses Limited is a family-owned greenhouse operation and a leading grower of potted roses and other floral products since 1954.
We are investing in technology and automation to modernize the way we operate — and we are expanding our IT team.
About the Role
We are hiring a Junior IT Specialist to join our IT team and work alongside our System Administrator. This is a hands-on role with a clear growth path: you will start with end-user support, hardware deployments, and network maintenance, and grow over time into security tooling, automation, and infrastructure projects.
You’ll work alongside our System Administrator, who will help you get up to speed on the specifics of our environment.
This role is a good fit for someone with practical IT experience who wants real ownership, varied work, exposure to modern tooling, and direct mentorship.
What You’ll Do
- Provide day-to-day IT support to end users (Microsoft 365, Windows 11, common business applications)
- Deploy new workstations and supporting hardware
- Assist with user onboarding and offboarding
- Help maintain our network across multiple sites
- Support our office and label printer fleet (driver issues, configurations, troubleshooting)
- Open and follow up on support tickets with our software and hardware vendors
- Maintain our IT documentation as you learn our environment
- Contribute to our AI and automation projects
- Travel between our four sites in the Hamilton area as required
What We’re Looking For

- Hands-on IT experience — we are looking for someone who can start contributing quickly
- Comfortable with Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive)
- Basic networking knowledge (LAN, Wi-Fi, IP addressing)
- Strong troubleshooting mindset: ability to break down complex systems into subsystems and diagnose sequentially
- Patience and curiosity — IT problems often take more than one try to resolve, and we are looking for someone who enjoys working through them
- Experience using LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, or similar) as part of your daily workflow
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and willingness to travel between our local sites
- Conversational English
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
Nice to Have (Assets):
- Post-secondary education in IT, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience with RMM/MDM platforms (NinjaRMM, Microsoft Intune, or similar)
- Familiarity with Ubiquiti / UniFi networking products
- Familiarity with Windows Server environments
- Printer fleet maintenance experience
- Basic PowerShell scripting
