IT Architect Specialist

What you'll do
Architectural Design & Strategy
- Provide cloud design leadership to projects, application leads, and senior managers ensuring alignment with enterprise
architecture and cloud standards.
- Support end-to-end cloud architecture patterns that align with the organisation’s long-term cloud strategy.
- Translate complex business requirements into technical blueprints, ensuring they adhere to the Cloud Adoption.
Framework (CAF) and Well-Architected Frameworks
- Support Cloud Business Office led assessments of cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) for purpose, performance, and
cost-efficiency.
- Awareness to possible technical debt for legacy applications and how they can be reduced.
- Ensuring solutions continue to support business outcomes and optimize cost.
- Evaluate emerging technology standards, and participate in cloud roadmap and planning activities.
- Contribute to the evolution of enterprise Cloud architecture, shared services and platform capabilities.
Migration & Implementation Support
- Provide support and technical leadership to project teams during initial cloud migrations.
- Develop migration strategies (Rehost, Re-platform, Refactor) for legacy on-premise applications.
- Ensure that implementations are automated via Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) to promote consistency and repeatability.
- Collaborate with solution vendors for integrated cloud solutions.
Governance & Quality Assurance
- Establish architectural guardrails to ensure security, compliance, and data residency requirements are met.
- Conduct formal Architecture Design Reviews to identify risks early in the development lifecycle.
- Optimise cloud consumption to ensure costs are managed according to Technology's FinOps standard.
Mentorship & Capability Building
- Act as a bridge between the Cloud Business Office and other Technology teams, simplifying complex concepts for
stakeholders.
- Curate technical documentation and recommend Cloud Service Catalogues to empower teams to self-serve in a governed
manner.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and standardisation across Technology
What you bring
- 10+ years of experience in an enterprise Information Technology environment, with at least 6 years specifically focused on
Cloud Solution Architecture and infrastructure design.
- Advanced technical experience with major cloud providers (AWS and/or Azure).
- Strong knowledge of containerisation (Kubernetes/Docker) and serverless computing.
