Full job description

We are currently looking for a YARD SERVICE TEAM MEMBER for our Sechelt Store to join our growing team. We are currently seeking a FULL TIME YARD SERVICE TEAM MEMBER however, we offer both part full time and part time opportunities. We also encourage students to apply for weekend and summer opportunities. Fork-lift experience is an asset.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Receiver & Yard Service Team Lead, the Yard Service Team Member is responsible for providing effective, efficient & exceptional day to day services required by contractors and customers in the Sechelt Store Yard.

What you will do

Performs duties in the Yard (Loads and unloads materials; moves materials & supplies from receiving area or warehouse; operates forklift safely to move materials & performs forklift routine safety checks; assists customer in loading purchased materials safely and accurately into vehicle; & loads & unloads product on to store delivery trucks)
Square stacks materials on display to maintain safe and orderly conditions in all areas on a daily basis & covers exposed materials, when required, to prevent weather damage.
Answers questions, identifies and directs customer to building materials and supplies in the yard and warehouse.
Cuts lumber, screening, and related materials to size requested by customer.
Marks prices on merchandise signs or labels according to current system prices.
Maintains inventory and displays within assigned area to merchandising standards by stocking, facing, straightening, and cleaning or any other task necessary to maintain appearance and salability of items.
Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of the yard by keeping ground free of clutter including bands, chocks and trash.
Performs regular customer vehicle checks for loaded merchandise when customers are leaving the lumberyard by matching what has been loaded to what was purchased on the loading receipt.
Fills propane tanks in accordance with procedure.

Must successfully pass all Company training regarding equipment usage, including obtaining the forklift certification and propane certification.
Must have a current driver's license and be able to meet the driver eligibility guidelines for the Company.

Qualified applicants will have

Completed High School.
a minimum of 6 months experience

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Part-time hours – 16-40 per week
