Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Associate to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely payments. This role requires proficiency with Quickbooks and Excel and a strong understanding of bookkeeping and account reconciliation processes. The Accounts Payable Associate plays a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the overall accounting operations of the organization.

Duties

Process and verify invoices using accounting software such as QuickBooks Desktop and Excel
Perform data entry related to accounts payable transactions with high accuracy
Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Maintain organized records of all invoices, payments, and related documentation
Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to ensure proper payment procedures are followed
Support other team members as needed. ie. payroll duties
Perform related clerical duties as required such as reception backup, filing and scanning

Requirements

Post-secondary education in Accounting or related discipline
Minimum 2-3 years experience in an office setting
1-2 years of work experience in an accounting department
Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks
Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel
Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Knowledge of accounts payable processes and account reconciliation techniques
Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or issues
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Strong communication skills and ability to function as a team
Prior experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles preferred

This position is an office-based role and does not have the option to work from home. It offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the financial health of our organization while working in a collaborative environment that values accuracy and efficiency.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00-$26.00 per hour
