Position Overview:
The Business Development Manager – British Columbia Region plays a key role in driving the growth and expansion of Environmental 360 Solutions Ltd. (“E360S”) across the province. This position focuses on identifying new business opportunities, expanding market presence, exceeding KPIs/metrics and strengthening relationships with key clients, municipalities, and industrial partners.
Working closely with Operations, Finance, and Senior Leadership, the Business Development Manager develops strategic growth plans that align with company objectives while delivering exceptional customer value. The role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution — from prospecting and proposal development to contract negotiation and onboarding new accounts.
Success in this role is measured by sustained regional growth, client retention, and the ability to represent E360S’s commitment to providing safe, sustainable, and customer-focused environmental solutions throughout British Columbia.
This position will require frequent out of town overnight travels.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS
New Business Acquisition & Contract Renewals:
- Growth 2026 revenue to $4.5 million across British Columbia through combination of new business acquisition, renewals, projects and partnership development (municipality, indigenous).
- ≥ New business acquisition and contract renewals (new acquisition value of ≥$100,000 for Kelowna and PG)
- Minimum 15 logged customer interactions a week.
- Establish E360S as sustainable and service partner for undeveloped verticals including Property Management, Construction, and Project Management verticals: Many of these verticals remain underdeveloped.
- Establish regional rotation schedule, ensuring key markets receive quarterly visits. The markets include Prince Rupert, Terrace, Williams Lake, 100 Mile House and South Okanagan.
Sales Reporting and Strategic Forecasting:
- Partner with Inside Sales to audit customer lists and reconcile Trux data with finance.
- Create a standardized regional reporting dashboard showing contract status, ARR, and renewal pipeline.
- Use insights to establish territory-specific organic growth benchmarks for 2026.
- Pipeline & Reporting Discipline: 100% CRM compliance — all meetings, opportunities, and notes entered within end of week.
- Weekly pipeline update shared with Inside Sales and branch managers for regional alignment.
- Submit weekly activity plan (prospect meetings, renewals, site visits) every Monday; review progress on Friday debrief with Sales Director.
Team Support:
- Mentor sales reps in local markets and
- Partner with Inside Sales to audit customer lists and reconcile data with finance.
- Create targeted vertical playbooks (Property Mgmt. Mining, Construction) with case studies and bundled offers.
Create a standardized regional reporting dashboard showing contract status, ARR, and renewal pipeline.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Commerce, Environmental Sciences, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- MBA or other advanced business certification considered an asset.
Experience:
- 5–8 years of business development or sales experience, ideally in:
- Environmental services
- Waste management/recycling
- Industrial services
- Construction or property management sectors
- Proven success managing large territories or remote markets.
- Demonstrated ability to acquire new business, grow account portfolios, and renew multi-year contracts.
- Experience working with municipalities, Indigenous communities, and industrial partners is a strong asset.
- Prior experience building strategic growth plans, reporting dashboards, and/or sales forecasting models.
- Experience in B2B or B2G sales cycles including RFP responses, pricing, and contract negotiation.
Knowledge & Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of:
- Environmental services industry (preferably waste collection, recycling, industrial services).
- Municipal procurement processes and long-term service contracts.
- Market development in remote or emerging regions.
- Highly proficient with:
- CRM systems — 100% reporting compliance expected.
- Microsoft Excel for forecasting and dashboard creation.
- Proposal writing, pricing models, and contract structuring.
- Ability to analyze operational data, market trends, and customer insights for strategic planning.
Key Competencies & Soft Skills:
- Hunter mentality — strong prospecting, networking, and opportunity-qualification skills.
- Strategic thinker with ability to build penetration plans for underdeveloped verticals (Property Management, Construction, Industrial Projects).
- Excellent relationship-building skills and ability to engage with municipal and Indigenous partners respectfully and professionally.
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills, including RFP management.
- Exceptional organizational discipline — weekly reporting, pipeline updates, and travel scheduling.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams (Operations, Finance, Inside Sales, Senior Leadership).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate on operational solutions for customers.
