Job Overview

Join our vibrant bakery team as a Bakery Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help create delightful baked goods and provide exceptional customer experiences. In this energetic role, you will support daily bakery operations, assist with food preparation, and ensure our customers leave with a smile. Your passion for baking and food service will contribute to a warm, welcoming environment that celebrates quality and creativity. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in the food industry while working in a fast-paced, friendly setting.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing baked goods, including mixing, shaping, and decorating cakes and pastries with precision and flair
Support the bakery team in food handling, ensuring all products meet safety and quality standards
Decorate cakes and desserts using various techniques such as icing, piping, and fondant to meet customer specifications
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery workspace, following food safety protocols at all times
Package baked items carefully for retail display or customer takeout to ensure freshness and presentation
Provide friendly customer service by answering questions about products, offering recommendations, and ensuring a positive experience
Help with inventory management by restocking supplies and monitoring product freshness throughout shifts

Skills

Proven experience in cake decorating or food preparation within a bakery or restaurant setting is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of baking techniques, cooking methods, and food handling procedures in the food industry
Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and clear communication abilities
Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail
Familiarity with food safety standards and proper packaging practices to ensure product quality and hygiene
Kitchen experience that includes food safety certifications or training is advantageous
Enthusiasm for learning new baking skills and contributing to a team-oriented atmosphere
