Fence Installer / General Labourer

Pay: $24.00–$27.00 per hour

South Okanagan Fence is a locally owned and operated company specializing in residential and commercial fencing throughout the South Okanagan. We take pride in delivering professional service, quality workmanship, and durable installations that enhance properties and stand the test of time.

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Fence Installer / General Labourer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in quality workmanship, and can handle the physical demands of construction work. Experience in fencing or construction is an asset, but we are willing to train the right individual who demonstrates a strong work ethic and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

Assist with the installation of wood, chain link, vinyl, composite, aluminum, corrugated metal, and other fencing systems
Assist with the fabrication and installation of custom gates
Dig post holes, mix and pour concrete, and set posts to grade
Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment
Safely operate hand and power tools
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite
Work collaboratively with crew members to complete projects efficiently
Follow company safety standards and installation procedures

Requirements

Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
Ability to lift 50 lbs or more and perform physically demanding work
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and pride in workmanship
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Previous fencing, construction, or landscaping experience is considered an asset but is not required

What We Offer

Competitive hourly wage based on experience ($24–$27/hour)
Four-day work week (Tuesday–Friday)
Three-day weekends
On-the-job training
Supportive, team-oriented work environment
Opportunity to work on a variety of residential and commercial projects

Schedule

Four 10-hour shifts per week
Tuesday to Friday
Overtime opportunities may be available during peak season

Experience

Construction: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification

Driver's Licence (required)
