Recovery Coach – Volunteer/Part-Time Position

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Recovery Coach who can provide peer support, encouragement, and mentorship to individuals participating in our recovery program. The ideal candidate has personal experience with addiction recovery and can connect with residents through shared understanding, empathy, and hope.

Qualifications

Personal experience with long-term recovery from substance use and/or addiction.

Ability to relate to individuals facing recovery challenges through lived experience.

Strong communication and active listening skills.

Positive role model who demonstrates healthy recovery practices.

Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.

Reliable, trustworthy, and committed to supporting others in their recovery journey.

Ability to encourage, motivate, and inspire residents while respecting individual recovery paths.

Experience participating in recovery programs, support groups, or peer support activities is preferred.

Recovery Coach certification is an asset but not required.

Responsibilities

Meet with residents individually and in group settings.

Share personal recovery experience when appropriate to provide encouragement and hope.

Offer peer support and mentorship.

Help residents develop recovery goals and maintain accountability.

Assist residents in connecting with community recovery resources and support groups.

Support a positive, recovery-focused environment within the center.

Time Commitment

This is a volunteer or stipend-based position requiring only a few hours per day. Scheduling is flexible and can be arranged based on availability and the needs of the residents.

Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
