Description
Position Summary
Supports the provision of direct patient/client care and physiotherapy interventions under the direction of the Physiotherapist or delegated Medical Professional. Performs reception/clerical duties. Assists with general departmental operation.
Position Relationships
Reports directly to the Manager of Community Services. Communicates with the physiotherapist and other members of the interdisciplinary team as required.
Duties:
- Maintains filing system, monitors supply inventory and stocks orders received.
- Maintains monthly inventory check and preventative maintenance records.
- Prepares clients/patients for treatment, with the supervision of the treating Physiotherapist.
- Performs treatment for clients/patients as delegated by the treating Physiotherapist, completes charting after each treatment.
- Health records and health information of the clients/patients of Deep River and District Health must be protected at all times. Health records and health information is confidential and required to be kept safe and private. Appropriate access to the information following related guidelines for Safeguarding information, Confidentiality of Health Information and Privacy must be adhered to at all times.
- Maintains standards of infection control.
- Prevention of harm and ensuring quality client care is of utmost importance. Client/Patient safety must be a priority for all staff.
- Maintain workload measurement statistics as directed.
- Supports and demonstrates the mission, vision and values of the organization.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Physiotherapy Assistant Diploma
- Current Basic Rescuer (CPR) Certification
- Experience within clinic, Acute Medicine, and Long-Term Care preferred
