Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Assistant (PSA) to provide specialised, one-on-one support to a resident within a long-term care setting. In this role, your primary focus will be enhancing the resident's quality of life through meaningful engagement and daily emotional support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 companionship and consistent emotional support to the resident.
- Engage the resident in meaningful activities, including crossword puzzles, bingo, music, reading, conversation, and memory games.
- Build trust and connection by learning about the resident's interests, daily routines, personal preferences, and life stories.
- Foster a sense of belonging, comfort, and regular social interaction throughout the day.
- Support the resident with light daily activities while actively promoting dignity, independence, and overall emotional well-being.
- Observe and report any changes in mood, behaviour, or general condition directly to the healthcare team.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Must hold a valid GPA Certificate.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year of paid healthcare experience (Long-Term Care experience is considered a strong asset).
- Transportation: Must have access to reliable personal transportation.
- Soft Skills: Hardworking, compassionate, positive, solution-oriented, professional, and adaptable with excellent attendance and punctuality.
Compliance & Clearances (Mandatory):
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)
- Valid CPR Certification
- N95 Mask Fit Test
- 2-Step TB Skin Test or Clear Chest X-ray
- Proof of MMR (Mumps, Measles, Rubella) vaccination
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
