HOURS OF WORK:
The stated hours of work are approximate as schedules are subject to change with the operational needs of the Health Centre. Changes made to hours of work will follow the terms of the applicable collective agreement, company policy and/or legislation.
Type of Shifts: Days, Evenings, Weekends, Statutory Holidays
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Responsible for reprocessing, sterilization and/or distribution of medical/surgical supplies, both sterile and non-sterile, to all departments. Staff are required to learn and work through routines including Decontamination, Set-up, O.R. Steris V PRO, Case Carts, Respiratory, Sterilization/Collection/Distribution, Extra Duties, Days, Evenings & Midnight Shifts. Responsible for stocking, picking, cleaning and maintaining all equipment and supplies, and assisting with portering of patients to assist in the smooth functioning of the Operating Room, PACU and MDR. WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

Grade 12 or equivalent
-
MDARO (Medical Device Reprocessing Association of Ontario) or Medical Device Reprocessing Certificate required.

Recertification within the last 2 years, unless currently working in a Medical Device Reprocessing department as a MDR Technician.

1 year recent experience in the Medical Device Reprocessing Department preferred.

Knowledge of decontamination, disinfection and sterile technique procedures, medical/surgical supplies and equipment would be an asset

This position involves assisting in moving, positioning and holding patients for extended time periods and moving heavy equipment.

Basic computer skills.

Available to work all shifts including weekends and stat holidays.

Maintains a positive attendance record.
