Position Summary:
Performs the treasury and accounts receivable functions; provides backup services for accounts payable and payroll functions and performs a variety of bookkeeping, clerical and administrative services in support of the day-to-day operation of the MBQ and its services to the public.
Reporting:
This position will report to the Director of Finance.
Summary of Main Responsibilities:
- Receiving, recording and monitoring all MBQ revenues such as: grant/funding revenues, service charges, rents, renovation and mortgage loan repayments, special fees, and other revenues
- Maintaining and monitoring mortgages including amortization schedules
- Maintaining petty cash
- Recommending compliance action for water and sewer services
- Providing backup services for the accounts payable and payroll functions as required
- Providing clerical, bookkeeping, administrative and other related functions;
Requirements:
- Post-Secondary Diploma in Accounting or another relevant diploma preferred;
- Minimum one years’ relevant experience; or
- A combination of Education, Experience and Training may be considered
- Experience in a First Nations setting preferred
- Must provide a clear CPIC (documentation will be required if successful applicant)
- First Aid and CPR an asset (and must be willing to take the training if hired)
- Valid Driver’s License and vehicle
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience with computer programs (i.e. Sage 300, ACC PAC, Microsoft Office, email and internet)
- Knowledge of Accounting
- Ability to work as an individual and as part of a team
- Knowledge of lending and mortgage procedures, credit analysis, debt collection and collateral registration procedures
- Knowledge of the Finance Administration Act, the Indian Act, the Bankruptcy Act and land registry procedures
- Well developed interpersonal, public relations and relationship building skills
- Excellent organizational, time and file management skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
