Part-Time (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday)

Salary

Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications. Range: $35 to $45 per hour.

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a passion for numbers, and a commitment to accuracy. As an integral part of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain Accurate Financial Records: Record and classify daily financial transactions to ensure accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.
Prepare Financial Reports: Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Reconcile Accounts: Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
Budget Management: Assist with the preparation and monitoring of budgets, providing insights and recommendations to support cost control and revenue growth.
Tax Compliance: Prepare and file tax returns to ensure compliance with Saskatchewan Finance and qualify for tobacco and fuel tax rebates.
Audit Preparation: Assist with preparing documents and schedules for internal and external audits.
Support Financial Planning: Collaborate with management to develop financial strategies and forecasts.
Payroll: Input employee timesheets in the Payworks System and preparing Record of Employment for exiting employees.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles.
Certification: CPA or equivalent certification is preferred but not required
Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting software QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in financial recordkeeping
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently when necessary.
