Specific Responsibilities
- Participate in and/or coordinate reclamation activities focused on noxious/prohibited weed mitigation and native plant installation
- Provide skilled physical labour; activities may include backpack spraying, hand pulling, weed-whacking, mechanical removal of vegetation, plant installation, shoveling, raking, operating plate tamper and other small equipment, material hauling/handling, driving to/from site, record keeping, safety paperwork, assisting foreman with on-site duties.
- Plant identification skills are imperative; must select and only spray undesirable vegetation while leaving native species to grow
- Collecting and reporting data from the field as required
- Work with a team in a remote setting. (Hotels/Accommodation/LOA provided for remote projects)
- Works productively with the team until snow prevents productive work on-site or job is complete

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
Education/Experience Preferred
- Education/certification in environmental science, renewable resource management, botany, plant-identification, horticulture, native plants, ESC, or similar subject matter.
- Prior construction or labour experience is considered an asset.
- Strong vegetation identification skills is an asset – additional training will be provided.
- Certified Pesticide Applicator or Applicator Assistant is an asset.
- First Aid, WHMIS, TDG, PSTS or CSTS, and site-specific orientation required prior to starting work on projects
- H2S, Ground Disturbance, Fall Protection, LSE, or any additional training certificates are considered an asset.

Experience:
- reclamation/herbicide: 1 year (preferred)
