Position Summary
Morskate Manufacturing is expanding in a big way! We're adding 90,000+ sq. ft. to our facility and investing in exciting new technology as we continue to grow. With this expansion comes an exciting opportunity—we are actively recruiting a motivated Plasma Table Labourer to join our dynamic team of professionals.
Reporting to the Pre-Fabrication Supervisor, you will be responsible for assisting with the daily operation of our CNC plasma cutting table. This role includes preparing materials, monitoring cutting operations, performing basic maintenance, and handling finished parts. You will ensure materials are cut accurately and efficiently according to specifications while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain excellent attendance record
- Organize part and clean/chip plates as required
- Receive work and priority instructions from plasma table operator
- Set up and operate CNC cutting table as trained to do so
- Manage plasma table operation in conjunction with grinding and cleaning parts with grinder and other hand tools
- Check material thickness and material grade as per nest
- Label, stack and organize cut parts as per nest for use by fabrication
- Completion of applicable paperwork associated with the position
- Maintain and service plasma table and related equipment as required
- Accurate use of square, levels, angle finder and other measuring tools related to specific area (in both Metric & Imperial)
- Operate grinders and other hand tools
- Safe operation of overhead crane and mobile equipment for material movement

Requirements/Qualifications
- Previous experience in a metal fabrication shop an asset
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, procedures and practices
- Knowledge of materials and strong understanding of metals
- Ability to multi task i.e. run table and grind and clean parts with grinder and other tools
- Good with numbers in regards to accurate measurements, checking drawings, counting parts and calculating weights
- Must have good time management skills
- Must be physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs. and be on feet for long periods of time
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to speak, read, write and understand English clearly
- Possess problem solving skills

We offer competitive starting wages beginning at $19 per hour, with final rates determined by your experience, skill level, and how well you align with the role.
