As a Team Support Educator, you will play an essential role in the daily success of our program. From assisting in classrooms and supporting children's routines to helping maintain organized learning environments and completing important operational tasks, you will help ensure that both children and educators have what they need to thrive.

Position Summary:
The Team Support Educator plays a vital role in maintaining smooth day-to-day operations across classrooms and shared program areas. This position provides flexible, hands-on support to educators and children, ensuring safe, engaging, and well-organized learning environments. The Team Support Educator assists with daily routines, transitions, activity preparation, and supervision while contributing positively to the overall classroom and school community.
Responsibilities:
Classroom Support
- Assist educators in managing daily transitions, including arrival, circle time, gross motor activities, snack, lunch, rest, and outdoor play.
- Support children with washroom routines, handwashing, dressing for outdoor play, and accompanying groups to the gym, playground, or on walks.
- Engage with children through meaningful interactions—supporting small-group learning, play experiences, and individualized attention as guided by classroom educators.
- Provide classroom coverage to allow educators time for family communication, planning, documentation, and professional development.
- Assist with classroom preparation tasks such as photocopying, laminating, organizing materials, and setting up learning invitations.
- Collaborate with educators to help plan, adapt, and implement activities that extend children’s learning and exploration.
Kitchen and Facility Support
- Complete daily kitchen and health-and-safety routines, including fridge temperature checks, water flushing, dishwashing, snack preparation, and refilling supplies as needed.
- Participate in end-of-day cleaning routines such as tidying classrooms, wiping surfaces, sweeping floors, sanitizing materials, and resetting shared spaces.
- Support outdoor environment maintenance, including playground takedown, garbage disposal, and general upkeep of learning environments to meet licensing and safety standards.
Team Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with classroom educators to anticipate needs, respond to changing situations, and maintain consistent routines.
- Support colleagues during staff breaks, transitions, or absences to ensure smooth program flow and adequate supervision ratios.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with team members, following established communication practices and contributing to a positive, professional work environment.
- Participate in team meetings, reflective discussions, and ongoing quality-improvement initiatives as required.

Experience & Qualifications
Candidates should demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Education:
- Completion of or enrollment in an ECE program, Child & Youth Care, Education Assistant, or related field is an asset but not required.
- Professional development in areas such as behaviour guidance, inclusion, child development, or health and safety is an asset.
Required or Strongly Preferred
- Experience working with young children in an early learning, childcare, camp, tutoring, or recreational program setting.
- Experience assisting educators or working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Ability to manage small groups, engage children in play, and follow educators’ lead in implementing activities.
- Experience maintaining safe, clean, and organized learning spaces.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to take initiative and respond flexibly to daily needs.

Pay: $19.00-$24.00 per hour
