CNC Milling Operator

Reports To

Production Supervisor

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented CNC Milling Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining multi-axis CNC milling machines to fabricate precision metal and plastic components. You will work closely with engineering drawings and use precision measuring instruments to meet exacting tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

· Machine Setup & Operation: Interpret complex technical blueprints, engineering plans, and work orders to set up, edit, and operate CNC milling machines.

· Tooling & Fixturing: Select, install, and adjust necessary fixtures, cutting tools, and attachments according to part specifications.

· Quality Control: Conduct test runs and perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and height gauges to ensure zero defects.

· Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines, monitor coolant and oil levels, and troubleshoot machining errors or tool wear.

· Efficiency & Safety: Adhere strictly to safety regulations, maintain a clean workspace, and optimize machining parameters to minimize material waste and cycle times.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience operating CNC milling centers.
Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in reading CAD drawings, and working knowledge or Mastercam (G-Code)
Math & Measurement: Solid shop math skills and ability to use precision measuring tools to achieve tight tolerances.
Soft Skills: Strong communication, ability to multitask, and a proactive approach to troubleshooting production issues.

Work Conditions

Exposure to hazards associated with the industry/trade
Use of required personal protective equipment
Operation and use of necessary tools, machinery, or equipment
Extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions
Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to 50 pounds
