Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with proficiency in industry-standard software. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in analyzing project specifications, preparing accurate cost estimates, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

Duties

Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
Utilize Bid software to create detailed take-offs and pricing for materials, labor, and equipment.
Collaborate with project managers and other team members to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and contracts for future reference.
Stay updated on industry trends, pricing changes, and new materials or methods that could impact cost estimations.
Assist with quantity take-offs and cost estimates from drawings, specifications, and other documentation.
Support the preparation of tender and bid submissions.
Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing.
Analyze project requirements and assist in creating accurate cost breakdowns.
Attend site visits or pre-bid meetings as required.
Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and other team members throughout the pre-construction phase.

Qualifications

Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential.
Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and labor costs.
Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build rapport with suppliers and subcontractors.
Effective project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost assessments.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
0–2 years of experience in estimating or construction (internships/co-op placements acceptable).
Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
Eagerness to learn and grow within the company.
