Job Overview
Candidates are invited to apply for the above Permanent full-time position to work at a long-term care facility, located in Stouffville, Ontario.

Reporting to the Director of Care, the Assistant Director of Care supports clinical leadership within the Long-Term Care home. Working closely with the Director of Care, the ADOC ensures the delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care while maintaining compliance with provincial legislation and standards set by the Ontario Ministry of Long-Term Care and the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Responsibilities

Supports and oversees nursing and personal care services to ensure excellence in resident care
Ensures compliance with the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021 and all applicable regulations; Participates in ministry inspections and audits.
Maintains all required records, reports, statistics, etc., for both residents and department personnel in accordance with policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
Monitors quality indicators, incident reports, and clinical outcomes; Supports Quality Improvement Plan initiatives
Leads and supports clinical programs, including policy development (IPAC, wound care, falls prevention)
Supervises RNs, RPNs, and Personal Support Workers; Supports staffing and clinical resource planning; Assists with recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management, including coaching and mentorship and ongoing education.
Responds to resident or family concerns and ensures appropriate action is taken within decision-making authority and/or brings to the attention of the Director of Care.
Acts on behalf of the Director of Care as required

Qualifications

Registered Nurse required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
Membership or eligible for membership with the College of Nurses of Ontario
At least two years of experience working as a registered nurse in the long-term care sector is required;
At least two years of working experience as a registered nurse in a managerial or supervisory capacity in a health care setting required
Leadership and communication skills are required; Effective human relation skills
Knowledge of applicable legislation, unionized settings and labour contracts preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices and techniques including education
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
Proficiency with electronic health record systems (e.g., PointClickCare)
Valid Vulnerable Sector Check
