Sharon R. O’Halloran C.P.A., Inc. is currently looking for an Accounting Technician to work in our Summerside and our O’Leary locations. THE ROLE:
As an Accounting Technician, you will take a hands-on role in all aspects of client service including involvement in review and compiled financial information engagements as well as the preparation of corporate, personal, trust tax returns, and bookkeeping. You will work closely with all members of your team including senior staff, accountants and partners. The client base includes a variety of owner-managed incorporated and self-employment businesses, agriculture, not for profits, registered charities, fishing and construction sectors.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the planning, organizing and controlling of all engagements to meet deadlines.
- Assist in preparation of Corporate Year-Ends
- Preparation of Personal & Trust tax returns.
- Preparation of Client bookkeeping needs.
- Understand client’s business and their needs
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of post-secondary in accounting, accounting technology, or other recognized financial programs.
- 2 years of experience in a bookkeeping or accounting firm
- Strong communication skills, both oral & written
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to plan, organize, manage conflicting deadlines, and set priorities
- Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with clients
- Ability to recognize and analyze problems, propose sound alternatives and conclusions
- Experience managing a variety of responsibilities in a professional manner
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in an ever-changing environment
- Proficiency with computers and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- General business knowledge
- Access to a vehicle is a necessity; must be willing to travel from the office to clients or other offices
Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
