Role Description
Arbios is looking for a proactive and hands-on Mechanical Engineer to join our team. Working as a part of the Engineering and Maintenance Team, you'll play a key role in improving the performance and reliability of our Chuntoh Ghuna Facility in Prince George, BC. You will be responsible for the development and execution of capital projects, including the design, construction, commissioning, testing, and implementation. You'll also support the continued monitoring of equipment performance, maintenance, and reliability systems for the plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop projects where the design and/or redesign of equipment or systems considers material selection, regulatory requirements, constructability, and maintenance requirements. All projects must also factor input from Operators and any environmental considerations.
- Coordinate with equipment vendors to provide timely resolution of mechanical design and performance issues with existing equipment onsite.
- Support Procurement with purchase of new equipment by specifying all equipment requirements.
- Plan and manage projects, and prepare material, cost and timing estimates, reports and design specifications for machinery and systems.
- Prepare contract documents and evaluate tenders for industrial construction or maintenance.
- Coordinate and supervise contract resources commissioned for the installation and/or inspection of mechanical systems.
- Provide technical/engineering guidance on mechanical systems for Operations and Maintenance .
- Analyze data collected on performance and vibration of site mechanical systems and structures.
- Work with Operations and Maintenance to develop maintenance standards, schedules, and programs.
- Investigate material and/or mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems,
- Provide support for the daily operating performance of the plant.
- Support the growth and development of the team through mentoring and sharing of technical knowledge.
Skills and Experience
- 4 - 8 years of industry related experience.
- Knowledge of the development and execution of capital projects from concept through construction and commissioning.
- Root cause analysis and ability to resolve most technical issues in an efficient manner.
- Materials engineering knowledge is an asset
- Knowledge of multi-disciplined engineering.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), or eligible for registration, with Engineers and Geoscientists BC

Compensation
$110,000–$125,000 annually, based on skills and experience.
