Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.
About the role
We’re looking for Claims Adjusters to join our growing team!
If you do not yet have your claims adjuster licence, it’s not a problem – we’ll take care of your training!
Location: Montreal (2020 boulevard Robert-Bourassa), Laval (600 rue Lucien-Paiement), Quebec City (5700 boulevard des Galeries) or Saint-Hyacinthe (2450 rue Girouard Ouest).
Work schedule: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday (35 hours/week)
What you’ll do here:
Open new claims over the phone with customers, then ensure the situation is handled immediately.
Interview insureds and/or witnesses to gather their accounts of events.
Determine whether the claim is covered or not by analyzing the insured’s policy details.
Analyze the information obtained, make decisions to determine liability and review damage assessments.
Settle claims fairly and equitably, confirm damage amounts and make payments.
What you bring to the table:
Claims adjuster licence and successful completion of exams.
Experience in a similar position.
Strong time-management skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
What we’re looking for:
To obtain your claims adjuster licence, you must have:
An attestation of college studies (AEC) in Insurance or a completed CEGEP or bachelor’s degree (an exception is possible if you have a high school diploma AND three years of full-time work experience).
Your excellent customer service skills will allow you to reassure and support your customers throughout the claims process.
Your analytical skills will enable you to use your judgment and logic when evaluating claims files.
You’re not afraid of using different computer systems to perform your tasks.
You’re able to adapt to change in a constantly evolving environment.
You are bilingual (English-French): For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
Training
Your full-time paid training will give you hands-on experience in the insurance industry and with Intact’s corporate culture.
You will be paid, mentored and supported during your exam preparation to obtain your claims adjuster licence.
