Reliable Canine is currently looking to expand our services. We are looking for dependable individuals for structured dog walking and in-home dog boarding opportunities in Gatineau and surrounding areas.
Role Overview
Contractors will provide structured dog walking and/or in-home boarding services while upholding Reliable Canine’s standards for safety, structure, and dog handling.
With continued growth at Reliable Canine, select team members may be considered for involvement in structured day training programs.
Dog Walking Responsibilities
- Conduct structured walks focused on safety and proper leash manners
- Handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments confidently
- Follow client instructions and established routines
- Monitor behavior, wellbeing, and safety during walks
- Provide client updates and communication as needed
- Maintain professionalism in all weather conditions
Dog Boarding Responsibilities
- Provide safe, structured in-home care
- Maintain feeding, potty, exercise, and rest routines
- Supervise dogs and manage interactions appropriately
- Monitor behavior, stress levels, and overall wellbeing
- Keep the boarding environment clean, calm, and secure
- Provide regular updates and communication with clients
What We’re Looking For
We value professionalism, structure, and REAL experience handling dogs.
Ideal candidates:
- Have previous experience working with dogs or animals
- Are familiar with balanced training or willing to learn
- Are reliable, calm, and confident handling dogs of various sizes and temperaments
- Communicate professionally with clients
- Are comfortable working independently
Requirements
Applicants must:
- Have reliable transportation
- Have access to a smartphone with data
- Be comfortable using social media for updates and communication
- Valid criminal record check or willing to obtain one
- Have or be willing to obtain pet first aid certification
- Maintain a clean and safe home environment if offering boarding services
- Present themselves professionally while working in and around client homes and providing client-facing services
Compensation
- Independent contractor position
- Earnings based on completed services/bookings
- Flexible schedule based on your availability and accepted clients
