Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed Switchboard/ Health Records Clerk.
In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, this position works closely with unit managers to provide a high level of staffing services to meet both short- and long-term staff scheduling needs. Using a computerized scheduling system performs related staffing functions following standard staffing guidelines.
Min typing speed of 45 wpm required (testing will be conducted) medical terminology training is required (testing will be conducted) Candidate must be prepared to complete a skills assessment as part of the hiring process. Resume must be provided/attached with application
- Grade 12 and two (2) years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to keyboard at 45 w.p.m.
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
