The June Motel is a boutique motel brand with two locations, Prince Edward County and Sauble Beach, an online shop and a Netflix TV series called Motel Makeover. REPORTING TO
In this role, you’ll report directly to the General Manager of The June Motel.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
A Room Attendant is responsible for ensuring The June’s service and brand standards are being upheld in the guest rooms and back of the house. Duties will include cleaning guest rooms, assisting with laundry, and ensuring that guest rooms and public areas are clean and properly presented. A room attendant promotes a positive image of the property to guests and must be pleasant, friendly and able to address problems or special requests.
We are prioritizing candidates that are interested in working a dual role which would include occasional Motelier Concierge shifts. Motelier Concierges are responsible for managing reservations and for service of food and beverage in our Lobby Bar. Concierges must be available to work evenings until 11:00pm.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Your job responsibilities include:
- Fulfilment of room cleaning standards, best practices, and procedures outlined by the Rooms Department Supervisor.
- Stock and sort supplies
- Vacuum, clean, dust and polish guest rooms
- Make beds, change sheets, remove and replace used towels and toiletries
- Bathroom Cleaning
- Window cleaning
- Deliver and retrieve items on loan to guests e.g. iron and ironing boards
- Ensure security of guest rooms and privacy of guests
- Perform rotation cleaning duties (e.g. steam clean carpets) as required
- Update and record all cleaned rooms
- Follow departmental policies and procedures and service standards
- Report necessary maintenance items
- Liaising with other departments as required to facilitate any special requests or room deliveries.
- Maintaining cleaning equipment, supplies, and storage spaces in an orderly fashion
- Attending staff meetings as required to facilitate communication and offer feedback
- Light landscaping tasks and other seasonal cleaning duties
- Using proper cleaning and sanitation protocols
- Ensuring Health and Safety procedures are understood and followed
- Work to improve upon sustainability initiatives within the department
- Interacting with guests and responding to requests as needed
- Log and sort lost and found items
- Duties, responsibilities and activities may change or new ones may be assigned
PREREQUISITES
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The June Motel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization at this time.
- Proven ability to work well unsupervised at a sustained pace while maintaining quality standards
- Excellent time management skills
- Commitment to providing excellent service and exceeding guests' expectations
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience is an asset
- Must be comfortable speaking to guests
- Flexible, part-time schedules
- The position of Room Attendant can be physically demanding. The successful applicant must be physically capable of performing repetitive work, standing and walking for extended periods of time. Must be physically able to lift and carry approximately 30lbs, including pushing equipment. Must be able physically able to stoop, kneel, reach, stand, walk, bend, twist, push, and see.

- Compensation: $20-23
- Hours: Part-Time, flexible hours
- Weekend and holiday availability required
