Your Role

The Special Events Coordinator (Community Events Support) supports the work of the Signature and Community Events Team. The role requires the ability to be flexible, multi-task, and prioritize multiple projects.

This is a temporary position based out of the Red Deer Ronald McDonald House, working 35 hours per week for a minimum of 8 weeks. The position will start as soon as possible and is expected to end by August 29, 2026. This position requires travel to Ronald McDonald Houses and events in Alberta. Some evening and weekend work will be required. The successful candidate is required to live in Red Deer or surrounding area.

This position is made possible in part by the Canada Summer Job Grant. As such, applicants must be between 18 and 30 years of age and a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person on whom refugee protection has been granted.

In this role, your coordination and attention to detail help deliver support build a strong donor experience, and guarantee accurate follow-up. That support directly strengthens Ronald McDonald House Alberta’s ability to keep families close to the care their child needs and provide comfort, stability, and connection while they heal.

Your Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement

Administrative support for Community Events

Community events prospecting and support

On site support of community events as needed and directed by supervisor

Maintain accurate, professional, and current Raiser’s Edge records, actions, and reports

All other tasks as required

Donors follow-up, stewardship, and event impact reporting

Other supports as required

Required Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including database management

Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships, internally and externally

Ability to work in a results-driven, fast-paced, dynamic environment

Strong problem-solving, communication, and conflict resolution skills

Organized, detail-oriented, accountable, and proactive

Ability to travel between locations in the Province of Alberta

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License, with clean abstract

Must provide a clear criminal record

Nice to Haves

Post-secondary education is preferred
