Pay Range: CA$42,578.91 – CA$ 75,420.21 per year
About House Dental Centre
At House Dental Centre, we believe that exceptional patient care doesn’t stop in the treatment room. For many patients, navigating insurance, treatment costs, and payment options is the final hurdle to getting the care they desperately need. Our mission is to transform the smiles of over 2,000 patients each year while delivering an elite level of care.
We operate on six core values: Enthusiastic, Perseverance, Transparent, Excellence, Dedicated, and Aligned.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a unique professional who can masterfully balance empathy with accountability. Patients should always feel deeply supported and respected, but they must also clearly understand and commit to their financial responsibilities.
No dental experience? No problem. We have incredible systems and can fully train you on the dental side. What we cannot teach is the confidence to have honest, professional conversations about money, accounts receivable, and collections. If you have a background in banking, collections, insurance, sales support, or office administration, your skills will transfer perfectly.
What You’ll Do
You will fully own the patient financial journey from treatment acceptance to payment completion:
- Patient Financial Guidance: Explain treatment estimates, insurance coverage limits, and out-of-pocket costs with absolute clarity and confidence.
- Accounts Receivable Management: Proactively manage the AR ledger, track unpaid claims, verify insurance benefits, and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Compassionate Collections: Make consistent, professional follow-up calls regarding outstanding accounts and overdue balances.
- Payment Structuring: Set up secure payment arrangements, coordinate third-party financing, and ensure all financial agreements are thoroughly documented.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with our clinical and front desk teams to ensure seamless financial arrangements are firmly in place before treatment begins.
- Process Improvement: Keep highly detailed notes and look for ways to optimize our collection systems and insurance workflows.
What Success Looks Like
You are the ideal fit for this role if you:
- Do not avoid difficult conversations: You are comfortable talking about money and holding people to their commitments firmly but respectfully.
- Are relentlessly organized: You pay intense attention to detail, maintain immaculate records, and can juggle multiple patient accounts without feeling overwhelmed.
- Are solution-focused: You take pride in watching aging balances decrease, insurance claims get cleared rapidly, and collections targets get crushed.
Qualifications
- Experience: 1–2+ years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, financial coordination, insurance billing, banking, or a high-volume administrative role.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills—you know how to remain calm, professional, and empathetic under pressure.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable navigating office software and eager to learn new practice management systems (experience with Open Dental is a major plus!).
Compensation & Perks
We believe in fiercely supporting our team so they can support our patients. Your total compensation package includes:
- Competitive Base Pay plus a rewarding bonus structure.
- Comprehensive Health Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, chiropractic, and massage care.
- Financial Protection: Short-term/long-term disability and life insurance.
- Growth: Paid professional development and vacation time that increases with your tenure.
- Culture: Regular company events, paid time off, and free on-site parking.
How to Apply
To be considered, please apply via Indeed with your resume.
To stand out from the crowd, please include specific numbers from your past experience in your application or cover letter, such as:
- The size of the accounts receivable/collections portfolio you managed.
- Specific collection goals or recovery rates you achieved.
- Your typical volume of insurance claims processed or aging balances reduced.
Optional but highly recommended: Include 3–5 sentences telling us about your most recent financial/collections role, a quantitative result you are proud of, and why you want to join the team at House Dental Centre
