- What you will do:
- As a caring, responsible health care team member, you will support clients to be as safe and independent in-home care settings, as possible, helping them to live their best lives.
- You will act as a liaison between the client and the Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist, in addition to assisting with the Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist's caseloads.
- You will be supporting clients with their rehabilitative programs, as well as processing and performing clerical audits for discharged patient charts.
What you will need to be successful:
- You possess a post-secondary diploma as a Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy/Rehabilitation Assistant or Kinesiology degree is preferred.
- You have a general knowledge of mobility aids and assistive equipment.
- Your focus is to embrace and support person and family-centered care.
- You are passionate, empathetic, use good judgement and apply critical thinking when making decisions.
- You are known for your excellent communication skills and ability to work in collaboration within an interdisciplinary team as well as work independently.
- You value the role a therapist plays in keeping clients at home when that is of personal importance.
- A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 6 months.
- Proof of a negative TB test.
- Valid First Aid/CPR Certification.
- Reliable vehicle and valid drivers license.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills, with ability to communicate in other languages an asset.
- Ability to safely lift up to 35 lbs. (16 kg).
