Full job description

We are hiring a QC Inspector to support quality assurance activities in our shop environment. This role is responsible for ensuring products meet internal standards, applicable codes, and customer requirements through inspection, documentation, and coordination with internal teams and third-party inspectors.

Key Responsibilities

Inspect welded piping and pressure vessel components to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
Coordinate inspections, testing, and documentation with production teams, third-party inspectors, and jurisdictional authorities.
Review quality records, including WPS documentation, NDE reports, hydrotest packages, and final turnover documentation.
Participate in final package walkdowns and confirm purchase order and customer requirements have been met.
Support a safe, organized, and quality-focused shop environment.

Qualifications and Experience

Welding Engineering Technology diploma, B-Pressure ticket, or equivalent education and at least two years of QC experience with welded piping and pressure vessels.
Level 1 CWB Welding Inspector certification required; Level 2 is an asset.
Strong working knowledge of Welding Procedure Specifications, NDE requirements, hydrotesting, and final documentation packages.
Knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII, CSA B51, and W59.
Previous shop experience required, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, including at heights and in confined spaces.
Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.

Assets

Experience with paint and coating requirements, weld mapping, and NDE mapping.
Proficiency with measuring equipment and reviewing MTRs.
Working knowledge of P&ID drawings, tubing, and instrumentation.
