Position Summary
The Early Childhood Educator provides daily programming, care and supervision to children ages 6 weeks to 6 years in the Regina Open Door Child Care Centre within a team environment according to Saskatchewan Early Learning and Child Care regulations and centre policies and procedures.
Requirements
This individual must be professional, friendly, possess excellent communication skills and have knowledge of and experience with child-centered, play-based early childhood practices. Early Childhood Educators must be able to work collaboratively and cooperatively within a team setting.

Saskatchewan Early Childhood Education Certification

Minimum 1 year experience working in a Canadian daycare is preferred

Duties and Responsibilities
Programming

plan and implement developmentally appropriate, child-centred activities on a daily basis to meet the individual needs of children and support growth in all areas of development; social/emotional, spiritual, intellectual, physical. prepare and submit a monthly programming report to document children's learning and development based on children's ideas and interests, following the ELPG

Working Conditions and Application Instructions
Must be physically able to perform all required duties of an educator for all age groups of children including active supervision of children-indoors and outdoors, daily cleaning and daily programming.
Hours of work for this position are 8 hours per day Monday to Friday within the hours of 7:30am to 5:30pm, with an unpaid 30 minute break. All positions at RODS require a clean criminal record check that includes a vulnerable sector check. This position includes a 13 week probation period as well as a cost-shared benefits package and 3% employer pension contribution available to the employee after successful completion of the probation period and six months of employment.

Salary Level/Classification
Hourly wage for this position ranges from $16.94 to $21.19 depending on SK Early Childhood Education certification level. There will also be an additional Ministry of Education monthly wage enhancement bringing the wage up to $21.41 to $29.28 per hour, depending on certification level.
