Job Overview

The Flats Eatery + Drink is seeking an experienced and motivated Kitchen Supervisor to lead our back-of-house team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about food, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has strong leadership skills. As a Kitchen Supervisor, you will help oversee daily kitchen operations, maintain food quality standards, and support the development of a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

Supervise and support kitchen staff during daily operations
Ensure all food is prepared according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines
Assist with scheduling, training, and coaching kitchen team members
Monitor food quality, portion control, and consistency
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards throughout the kitchen
Ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations
Manage inventory, product rotation, and ordering needs as directed
Assist with opening and closing procedures
Support the kitchen team during busy service periods and work various stations when needed
Communicate effectively with front-of-house and management teams to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications

Previous leadership experience in a restaurant or hospitality kitchen preferred
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations
Excellent understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Ability to train, motivate, and support team members
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
