Join Our Team as a Distribution Technician in Regina!

ENTRUST Solutions Group Canada, a Leidos company is an engineering consulting firm with offices in Calgary and Regina that provides design and engineering services to the electric power delivery industry. Our expertise includes all aspects of Transmission, Substation and Distribution systems for voltages ranging from 4160V to 500kV.

Opportunity:

ENTRUST Solutions Group Canada, a Leidos company is currently seeking a Distribution Design Technician to join our team. Operating with a high degree of self-motivation you will work within engineering teams to deliver overhead and underground distribution line design projects for utility and industrial customers. This position would appeal to individuals who enjoy working closely with clients and engaging hands-on in solving technical and logistical problems to achieve successful outcomes. We offer a dynamic work environment with the support of a diverse and deeply talented technical and management team.

Responsibilities:

Develop new overhead and underground designs by applying knowledge of distribution electrical systems construction, operation, and maintenance.
Prepare estimates, material take offs, scopes of work, and designs using client standards, industry codes and practices, and internal MHV procedures.
Complete electrical and structural engineering calculations using industry and client tools such as PLS-CADD, SPIDAcalc, ALD, DSA, DCSM, and DAD.
Produce survey and construction packages using industry and client software such as Office 365, ArcGIS, AutoCAD/MicroStation, PLS-CADD, AM/FM, and Passport.
Conduct site visits for field reconnaissance during the project design phase and field inspections during the project construction phase.
Effectively collaborate with clients, external stakeholders, and internal team members to produce engineering products that meet quality, schedule, and cost requirements.
Complete specialized technical assignments and assist in the preparation of engineering reports.

Qualifications:

1 year experience in distribution project design.
Electrical or Civil Engineering degree or Electrical or Civil Engineering Technology diploma, or Power Lineman certificate with design experience.
Ability to work in design teams and perform assigned tasks with limited supervision.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Exemplary customer service skill.
