Position Summary
Smilegate West is on the lookout for a Portuguese speaking QA Specialist who is passionate, enthusiastic and self-motivated to join our team.
The QA Specialist is responsible for finding, identifying and reporting issues with game systems, websites, and any other medium that the players interact with.

Position Responsibilities
Analytics and Reporting
- Analyzing the game and identifying issues with the systems
- Reporting any issues found on the bug reporting software (Redmine, Jira, etc.)
- Using the web-based bug database (Redmine, Jira, etc.) to record specific test results, and internal test documents to compile build-by-build status reports
- Creating game situations for testing the systems
- Generate and update test plans based on game features and design documents
- Providing relevant feedback to the direct report regarding game balance and any suggestions to improve consumer experience
- Investigating bug report from Live Operations Associates team to find root cause and report out to the Developers
- Monitor the live service game when necessary and investigate bug reports directly from user reports
- Verifying information from Product Managers to ensure it is accurate and up to date
- Professionally and accurately reproducing/describing game discrepancies in a clear concise manner
- Assist in creating and capturing in‑game scenarios to produce promotional assets for video, social, and marketing channels

1. Issue/bug reports are of high quality and completed in a timely manner.
Reports are thorough, informative, accurate and completed in a timely manner from the initial moment of issue/bug discovery.
2. New builds are properly tested, and minimal bugs are found post launch.
Launched builds are successful and complaints from stakeholders are minimal.
3. Tasks delegated by the QA Lead or other team members are completed in a timely manner while maintaining high quality of work.
Feedback from team members is positive regarding the task.
4. Incumbent demonstrates behaviours aligned with the organization’s values, vision and mission statement.

Required Behaviour, Skills, and Knowledge
- Minimum one (1) year of game testing or quality assurance experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English AND Portuguese is required
- Availability to work a flexible schedule (e.g. overnight game updates/maintenance)
- Excellent analytical and trouble-shooting abilities
- Strong ability to work under pressure
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask
- Team oriented with solid interpersonal skills
- Ability to respond to issues and provide quick, timely resolution within a tight timeline
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Office, Excel, Outlook)
- Background in game development an asset
- Knowledge in SQL is an asset
- Experience working with bug reporting systems is an asset
- Experience writing test plans is an asset
- PC and/or console testing experience is an asset
