What You Bring to the Table:
Core duties:
- Chairside assisting during procedures (passing instruments, suctioning)
- Preparing and setting up treatment rooms
- Cleaning and sterilizing instruments and equipment
- Taking and recording medical/dental histories
- Mixing dental materials (e.g., impressions, cements)
- Providing patient instructions (post-op care, oral hygiene guidance)
- Maintaining infection prevention and control standards (IPAC)
- Managing supplies and inventory
- Taking dental X-rays (radiographs)
CDA Level II (Expanded Duties Assistant)
Additional duties include:
- Taking dental X-rays (radiographs)
- Taking impressions (for study models, whitening trays, etc.)
- Applying fluoride treatments
- Placing and removing rubber dams
- Polishing teeth (coronal polishing)
- Applying sealants
- Taking preliminary impressions and bite registrations
- Removing sutures (in some cases, depending on office protocols)
- Providing more advanced patient education.
- Education: Graduated from applicable Dental Assisting Program (Level l or II)
- HARP Certification: Must be HARP certified to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Excellent Communication: Strong communication skills are essential for effective patient interaction and teamwork.
- Positive Attitude: We're looking for a flexible and fun team player who is dedicated to providing outstanding patient care.
- NDAEB Certification: Successful completion of the National Dental Assisting Examining Board is an asset (NDAEB)
- Dentrix Experience: Experience with Dentrix software is an asset.
- Whitening Experience: Experience with Zoom Whitening is an asset.
- A Valid Drivers License
- This is a shared location role
