Position Summary:
In this position, the candidate will participate in recently funded CIHR and Brain Canada projects aimed at predicting progression of Parkinson disease to assist in organizing curating and processing large datasets according to data standards such as the BIDS standard.
In particular, the candidate will work to create pipeline catalogue and contribute to the Nipoppy standard framework using the Boutiques pipeline description and the Neurobagel project to extend the capacity of the distributed platform. Common neuroimaging preprocessing pipelines are FSL, freesurfer, AFNI on a distributed compute cluster, and datasets will include QPN, PPMI and Enigma-PD. The candidate will also help with the documentation and development of this framework. They may additionally contribute to describe these pipelines with standardized terminology or linked data technologies. They will also participate when necessary to the implementation of new research projects.
The candidate will be responsible for the design, development and documentation of some of the developed tools.
The incumbent will be participating in publications associated with the laboratory projects. They will thus be a contributing author to the resulting publications.
Finally, the candidate will help with the laboratory organization and functions by coordinating some of its meetings and contribute to resolve small logistical or administrative issues.
Qualifications:
The position requires a background in biomedical engineering or equivalent, some experience in python, neuroimaging (MRI in particular), and biological data analysis. The candidate will have good communication and organizational skills and be able to express themselves (oral and written) in French and English.
