Coova Health provides private case management for individuals, families, and community organizations navigating challenging situations. YOUR ROLE
- Conduct comprehensive functional behavior assessments (FBA) and functional analyses in naturalistic settings
- Develop individualized intervention plans grounded in evidence-based practices, including skill acquisition protocols and behavior reduction plans
- Design and oversee implementation of positive behavior support plans addressing challenging behaviors, skill deficits, and adaptive functioning
- Provide caregiver and staff training to ensure treatment fidelity across home, school, and community environments
- Collect, analyze, and interpret behavioral data to guide clinical decision-making and program modifications
- Support school-based behavior planning and collaborate with educators on IEP goals and classroom interventions
- Address neurodevelopmental and behavioral needs related to autism, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, and concurrent mental health conditions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (Case Managers, OTs, Behavior Interventionists, Psychiatrists, RPNs and other professionals) to ensure coordinated, trauma-informed care
- Maintain BACB ethical standards and BC regulatory compliance in all aspects of practice
WHAT YOU BRING
Must-haves:
- Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or related field
- Active Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in good standing with the BACB
- 2–3+ years of experience ideally in community or home-based settings
- Comprehensive understanding of BACB Professional and Ethical Compliance Code and BC legislation relevant to behavior support
- Demonstrated ability to conduct FBAs, develop behavior intervention plans, and analyze behavioral data
- Strong knowledge of discrete trial training, natural environment teaching, verbal behavior, and functional communication training
- Experience training caregivers, educators, and behavior technicians in implementation strategies
- Deep knowledge of BC autism services, developmental disabilities supports, and individualized funding programs
- Confident working independently and supervising others in homes, schools, and community settings
- Clear, concise documentation skills that meet BACB standards and would hold up to regulatory scrutiny
- Ability to design interventions based on functional assessment data and adjust programs based on ongoing analysis
- Give and receive constructive feedback with professionalism and genuine openness as thought partnership is central to how we build excellent care plans
- Adapt when family capacity or client needs shift. You stay steady and solutions-oriented even when families are navigating difficult decisions
- Professional liability insurance (minimum $2 million coverage)
- Valid BC driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for work-related purposes, with business use insurance coverage
Bonus skills:
- BCBA-D (Doctoral-level certification)
- Experience with neurodevelopmental populations across the lifespan (early intervention through adulthood)
- Training in trauma-informed care, compassionate behavior support, or assent-based practice
- Experience integrating treatment for concurrent diagnoses
- Knowledge of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Relational Frame Theory, or other contextual behavioral science approaches
- Familiarity with AAC (augmentative and alternative communication)
- Experience with PBIS, school-based consultation, or transition planning
- Bilingual or multilingual capacity

EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP
This position is an independent contractor role, not an employment relationship. You must:
- Be responsible for your own income tax remittances, CPP contributions, and EI premiums
- Maintain your own professional liability insurance
- Set your own schedule in collaboration with client needs and team coordination
- Not be entitled to employment benefits, vacation pay, or statutory holiday pay under the BC Employment Standards Act
- Invoice Coova Health for services rendered based on the agreed revenue-share structure
- Retain the right to decline assignments and to collaborate with other organizations
A formal independent contractor agreement will be provided upon offer, outlining the terms of the relationship, compensation structure, confidentiality obligations, and termination provisions in compliance with British Columbia law.
