Aerojet Turbine Reworks Inc. is an aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility headquartered at 3071 No 5 Rd, Richmond, BC V6X 2T4. As a subsidiary of O’Reilly Holding Company (OHC), Aerojet specializes in engine and component overhaul services and operates under Transport Canada, FAA, and EASA regulatory frameworks.
Position Summary
The General Manager, Operations will oversee and lead all operational departments at Aerojet Turbine Reworks Inc., ensuring the efficient and effective execution of projects that support the company’s aviation maintenance facility. This executive role integrates operational excellence with strategic business objectives, driving safety, quality, and productivity across all functional areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, control, and evaluate overall production and service delivery performance across all engine and component programs through a leadership team of Directors, Managers, and Supervisors, ensuring achievement of organizational on‑time Delivery (OTD), Turnaround Time (TAT), and profitability objectives.
- Establish operational strategies and policies for capacity planning, workforce utilization, productivity optimization, and recovery planning, aligned with corporate sales forecasts and long‑term business objectives.
- Provide executive oversight of operational cadence and performance management frameworks, including governance of daily, weekly, and monthly management reviews to ensure disciplined execution and accountability across the organization.
- Direct financial performance management for cost of goods sold (COGS), margin improvement initiatives, and operational efficiency, in partnership with Finance, including budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, and financial policy implementation.
- Approve and govern enterprise costing models and labour management frameworks, and establish policies to improve working capital efficiency, including inventory optimization, work‑in‑process (WIP) controls, and accounts receivable support.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate senior operational leadership, including Directors and Managers; establish succession planning, executive development programs, and a performance‑driven accountability culture across technical and operational functions.
- Set organizational talent development strategy, including training, certification, and skills development policies, to strengthen engagement, retention, and long‑term technical capability across the enterprise.
- Oversee enterprise systems and planning governance, including ERP implementation and optimization, and the establishment of Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) frameworks to balance organizational demand, capacity, and resource allocation.
- Direct operational excellence strategies to improve throughput, scheduling effectiveness, bottleneck mitigation, first‑pass yield, and rework reduction, ensuring continuous improvement across all programs.
- Ensure organizational compliance with national and international regulatory authorities (Transport Canada, FAA, EASA) by establishing quality governance policies, enforcing audit readiness standards, and promoting a quality‑at‑source culture.
- Provide executive sponsorship of the Safety Management System (SMS) and quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and embedding risk management principles into corporate operations.
- Direct supplier and material strategy governance in collaboration with Operations Support and Supply Chain leadership to ensure material availability, reduce lead times, and mitigate enterprise supply chain risks.
- Champion enterprise Lean and continuous improvement policies, oversee new program introductions, approve capital investment strategies, and direct facility capacity expansion to support long‑term growth objectives.
- Support corporate growth and restructuring initiatives, including merger and acquisition (M&A) integration planning and operational readiness, as directed by executive leadership or the board.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering or a related technical field
- MBA or equivalent preferred
- Professional certifications such as ISO 9001:2015/AS9100/AS9110, PMP, Six Sigma, or Lean Management are strong assets
- Extensive experience in manufacturing or services operations, with several years at the Director, VP, or equivalent level
- Demonstrated experience overseeing large-scale maintenance, MRO operations, or component overhaul facilities in aviation or related industries
- Proven track record leading multi-departmental teams and delivering operational excellence
- Knowledge of aircraft maintenance, component overhaul, and regulatory compliance frameworks (Transport Canada, FAA, EASA) preferred
- Strong executive leadership, financial acumen, and project management skills
- Ability to drive change, foster innovation, and lead in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build cross-functional and customer relationships

Pay: $169,999.00-$170,000.00 per year
