Role and Responsibilities:
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Accounting Support Officer for a 12 month term within our Accounting team at the Rosetown Administration Complex.
Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, this role plays a key part in maintaining financial integrity and supporting operational efficiency across the organization.
As an Accounting Support Officer, you will:
Ensure Financial Accuracy and Compliance
- Reconcile general ledger and internal accounts, verify overnight postings
- Process transactions including payroll, government remittances, and accounts payable/receivable
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Administer GL for various clearing settlements and manage deposit account and foreign exchange rates
- Monitor ATM cash balances and provide branch support for ATM-related issues
Drive Operational Efficiency
- Identify and implement innovative approaches to improve productivity and profitability
- Monitor financial transactions and influence accurate reporting to support decision-making
- Provide regular updates and reports to the Accounting Supervisor
- Adhere to all regulatory requirements, security procedures, and internal controls
Support Team Growth and Development
- Provide training and mentorship to support employee development
- Contribute to a collaborative, solutions-focused environment
- Support other projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Accounting degree or diploma preferred, or a combination of equivalent education and experience
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (mandatory), with working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with banking systems is considered an asset
