Full job description

The Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient handling, movement, loading, and unloading of materials using forklifts and other material handling equipment. This role supports the delivery of high-quality service to clients while ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Load and Offload Trucks
Safely load, unload, and move materials using forklifts and other equipment
Complete material pick tickets and maintain accurate records
Organize and maintain warehouse and yard areas
Inspect, tag, and secure materials to prevent damage during handling and transport
Support inventory control and efficient material flow
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards
Communicate effectively with team members and customers
Assist with training new staff and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
Ad hoc duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

Valid driver's license
High school education or equivalent
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Previous warehouse experience preferred
Forklift certification and demonstrated competency

Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours)

Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills
WHMIS certification
Commitment to health, safety, and quality standards
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Team-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Desirable Qualifications/Competencies

Knowledge of HSEQ standards
Familiarity with company operating procedures
Basic understanding of purchasing and procurement processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
