ABOUT THE ROLE

As a PSW Instructor, you will play a key role in training and mentoring students in personal support
Responsibilities:
- Deliver PSW curriculum in an engaging and clear manner
- Support student success and development
- Assess student progress and provide feedback
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with the team to maintain high training standards
- Promote dignity, independence, and quality of care
REQUIREMENTS
- PSW Diploma/Certificate or equivalent healthcare certification
-Healthcare/Long term Care experience is required
- Minimum 5 years (60 months) of PSW or related experience
- Current CPR & First Aid Certification
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable
- Experience working with seniors
- Must meet instructor qualifications under NB Regulation 84-207, Section 3.1
- Criminal Record & Vulnerable Sector Check
required
- Completion of a Foot Care Course is considered a valuable asset and will be regarded favorably in the selection process.

Duties
- Provide personalized support to individuals, assisting with daily activities and routines
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages independence and confidence
- Support individuals in participating in community activities, educational programs, or recreational pursuits
- Assist with planning and implementing individual care plans tailored to each person's needs
- Monitor and document progress, challenges, and achievements to inform ongoing support strategies
- Collaborate with team members, families, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment conducive to learning and development
Experience
- Prior experience in long term / health care is preferred
- Prior experience working in classroom settings or with teaching responsibilities is preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse individuals
- Experience supporting individuals with special needs or disabilities is advantageous
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and adaptability in supporting others’ growth and development
