Centerfire is currently seeking a self motivated, experienced individual to join our workforce as a Pipe Layer in the British Columbia region. This role is responsible for the installation of underground piping systems in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and industry best practices.
We take significant pride in bringing on our crew members with the expertise to operate a variety of machines and drive a range of trucks in addition to their other practical skills.
Opportunity: Pipe Layer
Location: British Columbia - local hires from Kelowna and Vernon. No accommodations provided, travel to and from site daily.
Report to: Site Superintendent
Rotation: 5 Days on 2 Days off - 10 hour days
Key Responsibilities:
- Install underground piping systems including water, sewer, and storm lines
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and grade specifications
- Ensure proper alignment, grade, and elevation of pipes
- Work closely with equipment operators and crew members to complete tasks efficiently
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure quality and compliance with project requirements
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment in accordance with company and site safety policies
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Pipe Layer in the construction industry
- Previous civil utility experience including shallow utility, water, sewer and electrical
- GPS experience preferred
- Strong understanding of underground utility installation
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of grade and elevation requirements
- Physically fit and able to work in various weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license
