Primary Location: Blind Bay Village Grocer

Travel Required: Regular travel to Sorrento Village Grocer (mileage reimbursed between stores during scheduled shifts)

Wage: $20.00-$22.00 per hour (based on experience)

Reports To: Store Manager or Designate

Blind Bay Village Grocer is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable Administrative Assistant to join our team. This position is based primarily at our Blind Bay location and provides administrative support for both Blind Bay Village Grocer and Sorrento Village Grocer.

The successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting store operations by managing promotional pricing, administrative functions, and ensuring the accuracy of pricing and signage across both locations. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, excellent computer skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced retail environment.

Schedule:

Full availability is required.

Potential Schedule

Sunday: 4:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Monday: 5:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
4 hours at Blind Bay Village Grocer
4 hours at Sorrento Village Grocer (company-paid mileage between stores)
Tuesday: Off
Wednesday: Off
Thursday: 5:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Friday: 5:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Saturday: 5:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
4 hours at Blind Bay Village Grocer
4 hours at Sorrento Village Grocer (company-paid mileage between stores)

Key Responsibilities

Hang weekly sale tags on Sunday mornings or Saturday evenings.
Print, rip, sort, and distribute sale tags for both store locations.
Count and verify daily cash.
Conduct store walks to ensure shelf labels and promotional signage are accurate and in place.
Build weekly flyer pricing into the ECRS system.
Enter monthly liquor Limited Time Offers (LTOs).
Build monthly Red Dot promotions.
Maintain and update the company's pricing files.
Update product costs from supplier invoices in ECRS.
Conduct monthly competitor price checks at Save-On-Foods and Askew's using established pricing lists.
Prepare, edit, and proofread correspondence, reports, invoices, presentations, and other documents.
Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail and electronic correspondence.
Coordinate the flow of information between departments.
Schedule and confirm appointments and meetings.
Order office supplies and maintain office inventory.
Answer telephone and email inquiries professionally.
Maintain both electronic and paper filing systems.
Develop and maintain office procedures.
Welcome and direct visitors.
Record and prepare meeting minutes.
Arrange travel and reservations when required.
Compile reports, statistics, and other information as requested.
Assist with training office staff on procedures and software when required.
Assist with organizing meetings and company events.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Previous administrative or office experience is preferred.
Retail or grocery industry experience is considered an asset.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Experience with ECRS or other retail pricing systems is an asset.
Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and prioritize competing deadlines.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation to travel between Blind Bay Village Grocer and Sorrento Village Grocer as required.
