Who we are
Lakeside Childcare opened its doors in 2024 and is located in Alberta Beach. Our program has a daycare program as well as Out of School Care in a school classroom.
We are a licensed facility serving children from 12 months to 12 years. We are open during all PD days within Northern Gateway School Division, as well as Spring Break, Summer and other non-instructional days. We are closed for all statutory holidays and one week during Christmas.
Our program supports learning through play and children's interests. We implement the Alberta FLIGHT curriculum framework and child-led programming. We also believe that Early Learning Educators are professionals who have the big job of educating and shaping young learners.
Reporting to the Program Director, Early Learning Educators are responsible for the primary supervision and teaching of the children in their classroom. They care for the children and ensure they are given a safe, happy and educational environment.
You will maintain high-quality childcare standards grounded in developmentally appropriate practice, believing above all that the educator's role is to give children the tools they need to succeed and thrive while meeting group expectations. You are responsible for the programming and educational curriculum offered in your classroom, drawing on the provided curriculum and participating in planning time.
Candidates must maintain the documentation that supports our licensing regulations, including attendance, medication, diapering and program updates. Many of the records are kept on a digital platform. You will comply with the policies and procedures governing the operation of the centre, and you will keep inventory of classroom supplies and request them as needed. You will provide documentation and observations to keep parents informed about classroom events and their child's development. Open, consistent and effective communication with families is central to the role.
The right Educator brings a passion for play, a genuine belief that children are capable and important, and positive leadership skills.
A Level 1, 2 or 3 Alberta ECE certificate is required, as well as First Aid certificate and a vulnerable sector check , or are willing to obtain them.
New hires will complete a one month onboarding process.
