This Residential Counsellor -Overnight position – we are looking for team members who have some experience and have been in situations where they have had to deal with stressful situations, are great at receiving directions, and work in small teams. Experience working with youth, children, or adults and understanding of mental health are also important.
· Ensure that each youth in care receives the highest quality support, care and supervision.
· Ensure that each youth is protected from all forms of abuse, bullying or mistreatment by any individual.
· Excellent understanding of all emergency procedures.
· Promote an atmosphere and environment that enables a strong, healthy team
· Great documentation skills
Qualifications and Experience:
· Post-secondary educational background in a relevant field .
· In lieu of a post-secondary educational diploma/degree a minimum of 5 years of residential experience in a residential setting
· Superior written and verbal communication skills
· work overnights
· Possess or obtain certification in CPR and First Aid
· Ability to function independently within the framework of a team
· Sound Behavioural Management skills
· Experience in interventions (individual, group, family)
· Ability to produce clear and concise reports in a timely manner
· Competence in making and implementing decisions/actions when necessary to ensure quality service
