Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our dynamic warehouse team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our distribution processes, including loading, unloading, order picking, and inventory management. The ideal candidate will have experience with heavy equipment operation, warehouse management systems, and a strong understanding of shipping and receiving procedures. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse or construction experience to advance their skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Load and unload materials using heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and other heavy machinery
Pick and prepare orders accurately using order picker equipment and warehouse management systems
Operate heavy equipment safely to move materials within the warehouse or construction site
Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including verifying shipments and maintaining inventory records
Ensure proper storage of materials according to safety standards and organizational procedures
Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure operational safety and efficiency
Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and productivity
Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals and deadlines

Skills

Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or related fields
Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and maintaining heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and clamp trucks
Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control and order processing
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds or more) on a regular basis
Experience with order picking, load & unload operations, and using heavy machinery in construction or warehouse settings
Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and material handling
Construction experience is a plus for understanding complex logistics environments
Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately in a fast-paced setting

Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
