Growth Mindset Co is a small business in Sarnia, ON. We are professional, agile, innovative, and our goal is to create and facilitate activity programming for youth aged 12-25.

Growth Mindset Co is a social enterprise that works on contract with local Non-Profit organizations to create, facilitate and monitor activity programming and manage the operational tasks of associated with that programming. Currently, Growth Mindset Co is collaborating with YWHO-Sarnia-Lambton to pilot an activity center as part of their care model. Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario (YWHO) is an initiative that aims to bring the right services to youth (and their families) at the right time and in the right place. YWHO is a critical step toward improving Ontario’s mental health and addiction services for youth and young adults. Growth Mindset Co is currently seeking candidates for part-time and casual-as-needed positions to join the Growth Mindset Co. activity instructor team at Weir Active, located at 142A Lochiel Street in Sarnia. Growth Mindset Co. is driven by a purpose to positively impact our youth accessing mental health services, through the power of community and movement.

Ideal candidates have:
· G2 License and a working vehicle to transporting activity equipment to special events
· Experience working with young people, gained volunteering with a local youth group or through paid employment.
· Effective Communication Skills
· Ability to work well in a team
· Ability to work evenings and weekends
· A growth mindset – adaptability and willingness to learn
Qualifications:
· Must be able to pass a Background and Vulnerable Persons Police Check – can acquire after hiring
· Up to date First Aid/CPR certification – can acquire after hiring
Summary of responsibilities:
· Create inclusive and welcoming environments for all who access the center
· Deliver Growth Mindset Co’s activity class plans to facilitate activity programming for youth 11-25 year of age.
· Activity instructors must be highly adaptable and willing to listen and learn to the class supports available in the space.
· Must be prepared to match the energy of participants and must have the ability to relate to young people.
· Ensure the safety of participants while they are accessing the Weir Active Site.
· Respond to emergencies in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
· Help facilitate participant check-in and complete class set-up.
· Support the development and goals of the Weir Active model.
· Wipe down equipment after each class taught and/or on an as-needed basis.
· Participate in regular staff meetings and 6+ hours of employee training.
· Assist with data collection regarding activity centre participant experience
· Transport needed activity equipment and attend special events off-site as needed.
· Must be able to perform basic fitness movements such as but not limited to, getting down to and up from the ground or lifting equipment, up to 50lbs, down to and up from the ground, reaching arms above head, twisting and lateral movements, etc.
Education:
- Preference for students working through or graduated from a program at the college or university level
- All training will be provided
