About the team
The Investment Services team manage over $9 billion in assets primarily used to fund teacher benefits. Our investment professionals use their financial skills to perform the day-to-day operations of the investment program.
What you’ll do
The Junior Investment Analyst supports day-to-day investment portfolio monitoring and administration, including operational efficiency, data integrity, and compliance with internal processes. The role also assists with investigating and implementing new investment programs. As an entry-level opportunity in asset management, this position is intended to help newly graduated students build practical investment knowledge and experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating with custodial bank and investment managers to receive account information.
- Input and maintain trade instructions in investment systems while supporting wire tracking and settlement monitoring

Monitor daily cash positions and account balances to support liquidity management

Maintain investment operations systems including shared directories and filing systems

Track and update trade activities including reconciliation across multiple portfolios

Process investment related invoices and statements, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation

Support audit activities by gathering documentation, reconciling data and responding to information requests

Monitor investment holdings, and checks and reconciles information to ensure accuracy.

Contribute to the drafting of investment reports.

Undertake data analysis for projects and specific task assignments.

Update and modify data management procedures as necessary.
- Assist in the maintenance and creation of proprietary databases.

Assist in research projects as requested by the Chief Investment Officer, portfolio managers and analysts.
What you’ll bring
- A degree in business administration, commerce, finance, accounting, economics or a related field plus 1-2 years of experience.

Knowledge of financial markets and strong computer, mathematical and analytical skills are required. Keen interest in developing a working knowledge of financial markets and investment research.

Desire to learn about various asset classes and markets.

Efficient analytical, writing and presentation skills.

Highly effective organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills.

Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.

Demonstrated attention to detail with a focus in data management and reconciliation

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint
- Ability to manage documentation, records and multiple data sources effectively.
